The HW-585 is a compact controller board for temperature control and speed regulation of 12 V 4-wire PWM fans. The board has three separate fan outputs and can be used for cooling electronics, computers, amplifiers, power supplies and other systems where automatic temperature controlled cooling is required.

The first fan channel can be controlled automatically using the included 50K NTC temperature probe with a B value of 3950. The temperature range can be selected using DIP switches. Depending on the selected setting, the fan speed increases as the temperature rises and reaches maximum PWM control at the selected upper temperature.

FAN1 can operate with a PWM range of 20 to 100 percent or 40 to 100 percent. The 40 to 100 percent setting can be used when the fan requires a higher minimum control signal to start and maintain a stable speed. FAN2 and FAN3 have a manually adjustable PWM range of 10 to 100 percent.

The board can also monitor fan speed through the TACH signal. If a monitored fan stops or the speed becomes too low, the stall alarm can be activated. The minimum monitored speed is approximately 700 to 800 rpm.

The HW-585 is designed for 4-wire PWM fans using a 12 V supply voltage with fan speed controlled through a separate PWM input. The 12 V fan supply is therefore separate from the PWM control signal.
